[{"pk": 5, "model": "news.news", "fields": {"body": "<p class=\"ext-bodycopy\">TORONTO, ON \u2013 RadonicRodgers has stepped up its environmental leadership by taking positive steps to minimize the impact of its operations on the environment.</p>\r\n<p class=\"text-indent\">\u201cHumanity has been handed stewardship of this planet, and it's not too late to evaluate how we are doing\u201d states <strong>Ross Rodgers</strong>, RadonicRodgers Creative Services Director. \u201cThat\u2019s why RadonicRodgers has revamped its environmental policies and stepped up its efforts in minimizing its eco-footprint.\"</p>\r\n<p class=\"text-indent\">RadonicRodgers recently appointed Senior Art Director/Associate Partner,\u00a0<strong>Greg Tino</strong>, as Environment Manager. Greg has received his <strong>FSC Xpert \"Pioneer\" designation indicating that he was among the first group of design professionals to be designated</strong> and provided critical feedback for the program.</p>\r\n<p class=\"text-indent\">The <strong>FSC Xpert</strong> designation recognizes professionals who have committed to responsible forest management, with the knowledge and skills to successfully manage projects that use <strong>Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)</strong> certified paper.</p>\r\n<p class=\"text-indent\">Greg says, \u201cI think it\u2019s great that we\u2019re becoming involved with the FSC forestry management mandate. The FSC Xpert accreditation is specifically for design professionals, and it's a great vehicle for designers to become more involved in promoting sustainable design\".</p>\r\n<p class=\"text-indent\">With paper consumption as a top concern, RadonicRodgers began using FSC-certified <strong>Domtar EarthChoice\u00ae MicroPrint</strong> paper in 2003 which is endorsed by the <strong>Rainforest Alliance</strong>, <strong>World Wildlife Fund</strong>, <strong>Forest Ethics</strong> and the <strong>AIGA</strong>. All RadonicRodgers primary print suppliers have been carefully screened for <strong>FSC standards certification</strong> with the council.</p>\r\n<p class=\"text-indent\">Additional studio green practices include: retaining a recycling firm for <strong>weekly pick-up of recyclable goods</strong>; individual <strong>blue boxes at all employee workstations</strong> for used paper; <strong>laser</strong>, <strong>Xerox</strong>, and <strong>ink cartridges are returned to manufacturers for recycling</strong>; even the office coffee/espresso machine negates the need for paper filters by using air pressure to brew the ground beans.</p>\r\n<p class=\"text-indent\"><strong>Environmentally friendly practices have been scripted into the Employee Policy Manual</strong> to ensure stated green policies are understood and adhered to.
